UNDERSTANDING THE SOCIAL NEEDS FOR CULTURAL INDISPENSABILITY IN THE SOCIETY
UNDERSTANDING THE SOCIAL NEEDS FOR CULTURAL INDISPENSABILITY IN THE SOCIETY
A CONCEPT PROPOUNDED IN 2021 BY MBIBI LONGINUS CHINAGOROM AT DEPARTMENT OF MASS COMMUNICATION IN ALEX EKWUEME FEDERAL UNIVERSITY NDUFU-ALIKE, EBONYI STATE IN 2021.
Written by Mbibi Longinus Chinagorom (PAA)/09124601622
According to Mbibi Longinus
Chinagorom (2021) opines that "cultural Indispensability is the pinnacle of human success that
encompasses good virtues of workability in every angle of life and its
administration and manifestations". he further states that this is because it is what human beings
cannot do without in the society. Apparently, It is a cultural way of life
developed 2021 by Mbibi Longinus Chinagorom at department of Mass Communication
in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ebonyi State to be as a centered
hold human behavior in the society.
Thus, this encompasses all the
substantial aggregate of moral development and excellence that makes life's
administration, position and manifestation to be upright, transparent and
accountable before God and humanity. Therefore, it triggers and drives the
humanity to have knowledge of their election (bona-fide members) as vital homo
sapient in the society that supposed to be reasonable and responsible in all
sphere of life. However, it stirs up their realization and inspiration to see
themselves as essential component of humanity without whom humanity cannot
achieve its objectives.
Subsequently, the existence of cultural indispensability is the idea introduced by Mbibi Longinus Chinagorom to be a clarion call of adaptability to individuals that are existing in human society. This is because every human endeavour has expected end spiritually, mentally and physically. This creates a dependency of every individual to have a sense of bearings towards moral values, justice, selflessness, honesty, cooperation, self reliance, winning character, etc.
However, suffice me to advocate that value is a moral principle or standard which relates to what is good or bad. Values are enshrined and rooted in society/people's cultural norms, state's/country's laws, individual's principles and religion's doctrines. It is the values that determine a particular society, country, an individual or a religion. In spite of the variations, there are, however, universal values. The global human society expects morality from each person as a member of the society. World religions expect nothing short of good value from their revered adherents while state's and countries use agencies to enforce desirable behaviour. This is applicable to students and lecturers in tertiary institution. A student that has a value cannot belong to any cultism. He or she cannot be a detractive factor towards his or her lecturers. On the other hand, a lecturer that tremendously has a value for morality, humanity and society has no knowledge of sorting syndrome and inspiration of encouraging students to use their confraternity power to intimidating other lecturers or students.
Therefore, strategically speaking,
justice connotes the fair treatment of people. It is the quality of being just,
impartial righteousness, equitableness or moral rightness to uphold the justice
of a cause. It is a vital to understand that cultural indispensability creates
values which influence the notion of justice that stimulates its extension of
principle which based on each person is to have an equal right to the most
extensive total system of equal basic liberties compatible with a similar
system of liberty for all. In Nigeria, justice has been buried because of
corruption practice. This corruption has become an epidemic in the system that
floating every angle including judiciary and even religions that supposed to
standing to preach and defend Justice, they therefore have sold their conscious
for mammon and other selfish purposes. The used of technicality by barristers
and judges in the court of law continue causes miscarriage of justice in the
country. Mediocrity is being cherished rather meritocracy in the employment
process. As the white man had given to them a rape education in this country,
they are acting as a rapist without a sense of equal treatment to the people
and the country therein.
Furthermore, selflessness is another
vital attribute especially in representation and position of leadership.
Selflessness means thinking more about the needs, happiness and suffering of
other people than about one's own. It is an ideal virtues whereby one's ego,
pride, and selflessness is betrayed and given up. To be truly selfless is to be
kind and be good to everybody including yourself and family, friend, fellow
students, staff and lecturers, to mention but a few. In political
administration, this is where politicians or political holders should remove their
political ambiance in representation so that it may not affect the citizens and
even the country.
Also, honesty is a positive value. It
refers to a face of moral character and denotes positive, virtuous attributes
such as integrity, truthfulness and straight forwardness along with the absence
of lying, cheating, or theft. This is where family comes in the life of their
children whereby parents upbringing their children positively to develop their
integrity, moral excellence and honesty as they are sojourning in life and its
living.
Cooperation, this is the act of doing
something together towards a shared aim or objective. Cooperation exists
between individuals, states, nations, continents, institutions, public and
private to mention but a few. Wherever and whenever there is cooperation, there
is corresponding tolerance, unity, harmony, peace, success, and productivity.
On the other hand, lack of cooperation breeds retrogression, backwardness,
mutual mistrust, disunity and chaos. In Nigeria today, lack of cooperation has
been a problem among different ethnic groups in the country. Thereby
instigating marginalization, agitation, nepotism, untrue federalism and
violence in the country.
Finally, cultural indispensability
encourages self reliance and winning character in the individuals which sets
them apart from the crowd. Without these characters traits, people cannot win
the battles of life. Life itself is a big race. Especially life as a tertiary
institution, student is one of the biggest races of life. This is a race you
must have the absolute ingredients needed to achieve victory. That you are a
student doesn't meant you should not have positive character attributes. This
is the time you need to develop them, and if you do, you can hardly lose them;
they will lead you to become a better person for the rest of your life.
Cultural indispensability instincts the foresight of self-reliance and winning
character in the individuals to be reasonable and then to the society.
Conclusively, it is pertinent to always realize our
obligation and debt to the good virtues that contribute to the development of
the society. Cultural indispensability stands a chance in every individual's
Life and its lifetimes. This distinct the one individual to another.
Therefore, it is good ideal idea of mine to adapt and to allow it to laundry
your life and purpose.
We cannot do without values and virtues. They are important aspects of life.
