THE OBJECTIONABLE PERSON IN THE COMMUNITY

An objectionable person is one who by his demeanours constitutes him or herself into a nuisance. His or her behaviuor in both private and public life is incompatible with civilized social decorum. A particular case of objectionable person in the community is that of a man whom I wish to save the shame of mentioning his name in the interest of his family and relatives.
This man hails from a good family and had all opportunity of good birth connections which if judiciously utilized could support a person a to prosper in life. He as a boy was sent to school; and if he had worked, the sky could have been his limit. But by keeping bad company he messed up with his chance and was consequently withdrawn and sent to be apprenticed to a motor mechanic. He was even worst at this. There were occasions when he beat up his master and his household. After four years apprenticeship he still remained a poor hand at his trade; he even found it difficult to remove or replace a bolt. Eventually he dropped out from his trade again. But by then he had become a grown up person and had become a dried fish which is impossible to bend. He has thus ended up with no trade for his livelihood.
Meanwhile both his former classmates at school and at the motor mechanic apprenticeship had completed their courses and had started themselves solidly in life. He started to make himself objectionable by trying to renew his friendship with these old mates by way of begging for financial support to start a business. Some made the mistake of casting their pearls to the swine by obliging him only to their disappointment. The business was never established, neither was such money refunded. He became a notorious lazy and irresponsible person, living a life of parasite on other unsuspecting people's hard earned money. People began to avoid him.
During the days of Nigeria's dirty politics this man appeared to have discovered his hidden talent- he became a fairly prosperous thug- looting, committing arson and felony, with impurity. Even before his sponsors failed from power when the army struck at such rotten politics, this man used that to be a shameless proud owner of a Volkswagen car.
After the army took over, this man was again back in his right position, he resumed his insecure, precarious existence, living a life of comparable to that of a fugitive and vagabond.
People from left and right avoided him because he was dangerous and irresponsible. Whenever he calls on anybody ostensibly for a chat or courtesy, it is really to borrow or sharp the reluctant host's food.
When he was at the end of his tethers with regard to duping people about, he resorts to other crooked and wicked means of obtaining his means of livelihood. He does this by way of fishing in the troubled waters he stirs up. For example, it was just last week he tricked a young brother of his to elope with the wife of mother acquaintance in the same town.
Earlier he had obtained a lump sum of money from his young brother for the part he played in obtaining the consent of the girl. He later came across this man whose girlfriend he helped in misleading and sympathized with him and even suggested plans to recover the girl provided he would be given another blood money to execute such plans. These victims are about to be taken in when one of those who had gotten wind of the man's nefarious role in this Matter stopped him from tripping this objectionable character. He is now as a result of many other anti-social behaviuor a jail-bird, a very objectionable character indeed.
Experience teaches a man better
